Autism Spectrum Connections is a community project to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Conditions. The Community Projects was Founded by Jordan Day in 2019, and it has two main goals;
The first, to give young autistic advocates a managed platform and an opportunity to share stories, ideas, strategies or any work with the online community to raise awareness and understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions.
The second, to provide a fun & safe social group for the team to have fun and build on social skills in a supportive environment.
Jordan Day, Founder & Project Lead has spent a lot of time since 2016 raising awareness and understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions in his local community as well as the online community. Jordan has been able to do this by running a blog all about life on the Autism Spectrum, sharing personal stories & experiences, and now as a Special Educational Needs & Disability Learning Support Assistant in Primary Education, Jordan is able to share professional practice and ideas with his readers, as well as apply his knowledge in his daily practice.
Jordan & many of the team also work closely with Act for Autism, who are a locally based social enterprise that provide unique insights about Autism via Specialist workshops and coaching for parents, carers, teachers & other working professionals, as well as autistic children and young adults. Jordan has been behind a lot of the work Act for Autism do in the local & autistic community. This work includes, Technical Support, Advice and Trying out new stratagies, Speaking at Seminars and Workshops, as well as working with Act for Autism to create two award winning short films with young autistic advocates.
Jordan and the team at Autism Spectrum Connections are passionate about raising awareness of Autism Spectrum Conditions and want to have a positive impact on the community by doing this. Please follow us on this exciting journey!
